Appleton Museum of Art

The Appleton Museum of Art is the beating heart of fine arts in Ocala as well as one of the region's leading cultural institutions. The permanent collection includes European masters as well as West African, pre-Columbian and Asian art. Art collector and thoroughbred breeder Arthur Appleton opened the musuem in 1987. It is now owned and operated by the Central Florida Community College.
The 44-acre Appleton Cultural Center is also home to the Ocala Civic Theater and Pioneer Garden Club. Check the museum website for traveling exhibitions, films and performances.
